Ministry of Film in Tashkent will have documentary made about the 101

At the invitation of the ministry we are back in Uzbekistan for our second visit. You can read about our first trip in older newsitems.

Straight after our night flight via Istanbul we had a good discussion with the minister of film of Uzbekistan (with the blue turtleneck). We were introduced to the head of the film studio and the directors who will be making a documentary about the 101 Uzbeks that were killed in and around Kamp Amersfoort. It should be realized, in cooperation with our foundation, before the 75-years commemoration of the end of the Second World War.

The film crew will be present at the memorial of 9 April at the Koedriest monument. (Come on, everyone, and light a candle at 06.30 hours!)

There is also the idea of making a movie about this topic. Talks on the matter are still going on.

The minister has also promised his assistance in getting access to the archives, in hopes of there being some trace of these 101 men buried as unknown Soviet soldiers.
