Name of museum at the Cemetery revealed

Soviet War Cemetery Foundation Announces Name of New Museum: Soviet War Cemetery Experience
The Soviet War Cemetery Foundation has officially revealed the name of the museum opening in March: The Soviet War Cemetery Experience. This museum immerses visitors in the impact of war on Soviet soldiers and their families through Virtual Reality.

For the first time in the Netherlands, visitors will be able to step into the shoes of a World War II soldier. “That’s why we chose the word Experience in our name—because we offer much more than a traditional museum,” says Remco Reiding, director of the Soviet War Cemetery Experience.

The museum will open its doors on March 8, just a three-minute walk from the Soviet War Cemetery in Leusden, where 865 war victims from the Soviet Union are buried. At its core, the museum tells the gripping, personal stories of missing soldiers and the families who spent decades in uncertainty about their fate.

A new website has been launched specifically for the museum: www.sovjet-ereveld.nl, where visitors can find more information about the Soviet War Cemetery and the museum.
