War Cemetery

Het Ereveld in Leusden biedt een plek voor herdenking

The final resting place

The Soviet War Cemetery in Leusden is the final resting place of 865 war dead from the Soviet Union. They perished during the Second World War. Many died in German captivity.

This cemetery is unique in the Netherlands, because it is the only one dedicated to Soviet soldiers. Visitors can reflect on the sacrifices these soldiers made in the fight against Nazi Germany and the devastating impact of the war on their lives and those of their families.

Discover the stories in the museum

For an optimal visit, we recommend first exploring the stories of the soldiers and their relatives in the Soviet War Cemetery Experience. This will give you a better understanding and sufficient information before visiting the cemetery.
