Adopt a soldier

For a long time, the war victims at the Soviet War Cemetery were more or less forgotten. The Soviet War Cemetery Foundation works hard to identify these soldiers, track down their relatives and reunite families at the grave. We tell their stories and show how the war affected their lives.

For a long time, the war victims at the Soviet War Cemetery were more or less forgotten. The Soviet War Cemetery Foundation works hard to identify these soldiers, track down their relatives and reunite families at the grave. We tell their stories and show how the war affected their lives.

We cannot do this without support. That is why we symbolically offer every war victim up for adoption. With a contribution of 60 euros per year per grave, you help us to find relatives and to continue telling the stories behind the graves.

As an adopter, you will receive a certificate with the name of the soldier and the corresponding grave number (click here for the map of the War Cemetery). You will also receive a newsletter at least six times a year. Every year we will place a bouquet of flowers at the grave that you have adopted and on Christmas Eve we will light a candle.

Graves that we would like to link to new adopters regularly become available. If there are no graves available for adoption, you can initially become a Friend for 60 euros per year. You will automatically be placed on the waiting list for prospective adopters and at the same time support our activities!
